Chanakya
Thoughts of Chanakya about women as explained by Barry Nirmal
These five should be considered as mothers; the king's wife, your guru's wife, your friend's wife, your wife's mother, and your own mother.
A man should be content with his own wife, with food, and with wealth. But he must not be content with studies, with tapa (i.e. devotion to hard work or dedication to God or towards achieving an aim), and with charity.
O lady, why are you gazing downward? Has something of yours fallen on the ground? (She replies) O fool, can you not understand the pearl of my youth has slipped away?
Even a pandit (i.e. scholar) comes to grief by giving instruction to a foolish disciple, by maintaining a wicked wife, and by excessive familiarity with the miserable.
”The world’s biggest power is the youth and beauty of a woman.”
