  • Hurricane Info for Houston

    HOUSTON --- Sept 14- 10 PM- Nine deaths have been blamed on Hurricane Ike thus far.

    Six of the deaths were in Texas, two in Louisiana and one in Arkansas.
    In Texas, authorities found three people dead in Galveston, including one person found in a submerged vehicle near the airport.
    A 4-year-old boy died of carbon monoxide poisoning caused by his family’s generator, which was inside their home.
    In Montgomery County, a boy was killed by a falling tree limb before Ike hit. His father was reportedly trimming the tree because he thought it would be dangerous during the storm.
    Also in Montgomery County, a woman was killed in her bed when a tree crashed into her home.
    In Louisiana, a 16-year-old boy drowned after falling off a fishing boat in a flooded bayou. It was unclear how the second person died there.
    The person in Arkansas was killed when a tree fell on his mobile home during the storm.
