943-293-0988 DTA Foundation Offers New Scholarship for Dental Assistants in Collaboration with ADS’ Andrew Whitehead Education & Certification Scholarship May 11, 2026 (ATLANTA, GA) - The Dental Trade Alliance (DTA) announced the launch of the Gary & Deborah Steinberg Dental Assistant Scholarship. This scholarship, made possible by a generous $125,000 donation from Gary and Deborah Steinberg, in collaboration with the ADS-DANB-DALE Foundation Andrew Whitehead Education and Certification Scholarship, invests in future dental assistants dedicated to infection control and patient safety. This is a two-part scholarship. Each year, up to 10 students will receive $2,500 scholarships for U.S.-based dental assisting programs. Upon graduation, recipients must complete the Dental Infection Prevention and Control Certificate to be eligible for an additional scholarship—up to $500 in value—to pursue the Certified in Dental Infection Prevention and Control (CDIPC). "Dental assistants by and large are also the infection control coordinators within the majority of practices, yet they have little to no training in infection control other than what they learned on the job. We need to help educate dental assistants, and what better way to do it than through a program like this,” said Andrew “Andy” Whitehead, founding member and Chief Engagement & Relationship Officer of ADS.
