August 12, 2024 (ATLANTA) — The Association for Dental Safety (ADS), formerly known as the Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP), is pleased to announce a Call for Program Spotlight and Call for Research for the upcoming 2025 Antibiotic Stewardship Summit. The deadline for abstract submissions is October 1, 2024.

The 2025 Antibiotic Stewardship Summit is scheduled for February 2 in Atlanta, GA. The Summit is a one-day event that will focus on promoting responsible antibiotic use in dentistry by reviewing the most current guidance and by showcasing successful antibiotic stewardship programs and emerging research. Participants will leave with numerous clinical tips, tools, and resources to develop and implement antibiotic stewardship programs in practice. Conference Proceedings featuring all Summit abstracts will be published further amplifying the important work being done to advance dental safety. The Summit is supported through a cooperative agreement with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1NU50CK000607.

“We invite anyone working in oral healthcare settings to consider sharing their success stories, program outlines, lessons learned, and research related to antibiotic stewardship in dental healthcare settings,” says ADS Executive Director Michelle Lee, CPC. “This work plays an integral role in ensuring that every dental visit is a safe visit.”

The Call for Program Spotlight is open to anyone who has successfully implemented an antibiotic stewardship program in their organization. Proposal submissions should showcase how organizations are making a difference in promoting dental health through antibiotic stewardship practices while combating antibiotic resistance.

The Call for Research is open to anyone who is conducting research related to antibiotic stewardship in dental healthcare settings. This includes case studies, evaluations, clinical trials, systematic reviews, review articles, clinical case reports, and/or diagnostic challenges.

All submissions are due by Tuesday, October 1.

About ADS
Founded in 1984, the Association for Dental Safety (ADS), formerly known as OSAP, is the only dental membership association for oral healthcare professionals that focuses exclusively on dental infection prevention and patient and provider safety. ADS helps operationalize dental infection control and safety laws, regulations, guidelines, standards, and best practices to ensure every dental visit is a safe visit. Our membership community is comprised of individual clinicians, group practices, educators, researchers, consultants, trainers, compliance directors, policymakers, and industry representatives who advocate for the safe and infection-free delivery of oral healthcare. For additional information, visit MyADS.org.
