February 19, 2025 (ATLANTA, GA) – In a collaborative effort to champion dental infection control, the Association for Dental Safety (ADS), the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB), and the DALE Foundation are accepting applications for the ADS-DANB-DALE Foundation Andrew Whitehead Education and Certification Scholarship.

Committed to the belief that every dental professional plays a pivotal role in ensuring safe and high-quality dental care, this scholarship was specifically created to provide infection prevention and control education and certification to individuals working in dentistry.

The scholarship is open to all dental professionals with at least 1,040 hours of work experience. Applicants can apply for the opportunity to receive complimentary access to the Dental Infection Prevention and Control Certificate program or to the educational materials and exam to become CDIPC or DISIPC certified. Recipients also will receive one year of complimentary ADS premium membership.

The CDIPC certification is for individuals who practice clinically or manage, train, educate, or consult individuals who practice clinically, and the DISIPC certification is for dental professionals who do not work in clinical settings, such as dental sales representatives.

This scholarship honors Andrew Whitehead’s impact on the field while removing financial barriers in accessing infection prevention and control knowledge. By supporting education and certification, ADS, DANB, and the DALE Foundation strive to support those working in dentistry to ensure the ongoing safety and well-being of both patients and practitioners.

Applications are accepted through March 31, 2025, and recipients will be announced in June 2025.
