ADS seeks three (3) candidates to serve on its Board of Directors.

  • Board members are elected for three-year terms.
  • The individuals will be elected to serve from 7/1/2026 through 6/30/2029.
  • ADS’s board of directors is a working board.
  • Membership on the Board of Directors is open only to current, active ADS members with prior involvement.
  • Self-nominations are encouraged, and nominations must include a CV/resume

ADS seeks candidates who can provide leadership and expertise in areas that support and develop our infrastructure, enabling us to achieve our mission. The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a recognized leader within the domain of healthcare programs and policies.
  • Have an extensive professional network.
  • Have a strong interest in positioning ADS as an integral component of health promotion.
  • Have proven communication skills, wisdom, judgment, vision, and curiosity.
  • Have strong financial management skills.
  • Be a strategic thinker.

The role of the board member includes, but is not limited to: setting the direction for and monitoring the activities of committees and task forces; developing policies; increasing the organization's visibility and credibility; maintaining fiscal oversight; and managing strategic plans.

Time Commitment

  • Attendance at a minimum of two (2) in-person Board meetings/year.
  • Participation in monthly Board conference calls.
  • Participation in at least one (1) ADS committee.
  • Availability to review documents and provide timely input throughout the course of the term.
  • Commitment to respond within the time parameters specified.
  • Attendance at Annual Conference.
